(Dr. Williams believes that psychotherapy is most effective when it takes place within a cultural context. People have much more in common than that which makes us different. However, that which makes us different is very important; re: religion, gender, culture, race and ought to be dealt with in psychotherapy. The more visible the differences between the Psychologist and the client--the more important it is to deal with those differences in the therapeutic process.

Psychotherapy for children, adolescents and adults. Marital Psychotherapy is unique in that couples are taught a new and better way to communicate. Psychotherapy with African-Americans is different in that the focus is not on "psycho-pathology", rather, the focus is on how the individual is functioning.
